How are Applications Assessed?
We can apply for residence for you from
outside New Zealand !
Applications for residence are assessed by
the New Zealand Immigration Service (NZIS). Under the Immigration Act 1987, the Minister
of Immigration sets Government residence policy. The NZIS assesses applications according
to the rules of this policy, and is not allowed to make exceptions. If an application is
declined, the applicant may ask the independent Residence Appeal Authority to review the
decision.
Applications must have a high standard of
documentation to be accepted for processing, so it is important that you read and
understand the information available, especially the Application Guide. You are
responsible for supplying information which demonstrates that you meet policy.
There is an application fee for all
categories of residence application. These fees are not refundable and can change without
notice. Outside New Zealand, fees are usually paid in local currency. For more
information or if you are interested in immigrating to New Zealand, contact New Zealand Government.
