Category
The Entrepreneur Category has been set up
to grant residence to those people who have established a business in New Zealand
successfully for a period of two years.
An applicant will be considered to
have successfully established a business in New Zealand if:
 | they have established or purchased, or
made a substantial investment in a business operating in New Zealand; and
|
 | the business has been established for
at least two years; and |
 | the applicant has been self-employed
in New Zealand in that business for at least two years.

The business may be deemed as
benefiting New Zealand if promotes New Zealands economic growth through:
 | increased competition
|
 | introduction of new technology,
management or technical skills |
 | introduction of new products or
services |
 | development of new export markets or
increased market access |
 | creation of new job opportunities
|
 | the revitalising of an existing
business. |
In addition to this all applicants must
meet health, character and English language requirements.
Description of the business
Applicants are required to give
details of their business. Information provided should address the following points:
 | a description of the business;
|
 | the industry the business operates in;
|
 | the customers, suppliers and
distribution network of the business; and |
 | the business benefits to New Zealand.
