How do I know how long I can stay in the United States as a visitor? Very simply! Look at the white card in your passport for any stamp or handwriting that INS officer put when you entered the United States. Usually, there are two dates on the card. If you see a date which is after the date of your entry, that is the date you should leave the United States (the expiration date of your authorized stay). If you want to stay legally longer in the United States, you must file another application BEFORE that date! Please note: the dates on the visa stamp (the stamp in your passport) are not good any more once you entered the United States. if you have more questions about visa issues, please contact us. Again, if you want to legally stay in the United States beyond the period authorized, you must contact us before your status expires. When your status becomes expiry? you should know by now. |
