I am going to graduate from a college and I have received a good job offer.
Please tell me what I should do: to work under practical training or to work on an H-1B
status?
Use your practical training first. There are two reasons: 1) under an H-1B visa, a
foreign worker can stay in the United States up to six years. If you do not want to stay
here permanently, six years is the maximum period you can stay. 2) if you use practical
training, you can add, ideally, one more year to the duration of your stay. Of course, the
majority of H-1B status holders eventually adjust to another status, such as permanent
resident.
