NSC Update on Receipt Notices

Posted by Jeff Z. Xie, Attorney At Law on January 03, 2007 at 16:32:39

In response to AILA members' continued reports of Nebraska Service Center delay in issuance and mailing of receipt notices, the NSC Liaison Committee confirmed last week that NSC has assigned 10 officers to the task of bringing receipt notices current. NSC expects issuance and mailing of receipt notices to be current within the next two weeks.

Petitions filed with NSC more than 15 days ago for which no Receipt Notice has issued and for which a practitioner can confirm date of delivery, may be reported by sending an e-mail to gkent@porterwright.com, advising that no Receipt Notice has been received. The e-mail should state "No Receipt" in the subject line and include:

1.Sender's name and contact information
2.Date of delivery and tracking number
3.Petitioner's name
4.Petition type (i.e. I-140)
5.Beneficiary's name
6.Beneficiary's date of birth
7.Beneficiary's country of birth

This e-mail address is for reporting purposes only; the case information will be forwarded to NSC. If you wish to inquire about the status of a case, please use AILA's Individual Cases Liaison Assistance program. If you wish to follow up on an inquiry already submitted to AILA-NSC liaison, please send an email to nscliaison@aila.org. Please include your inquiry record number and the name of the NSC liaison committee member handling your inquiry.
