One of the main advantages of being classified as a priority worker is  the neither a job offer nor a labor certification is required.  Labor certification is a relatively long, tedious process by which an employer who wishes to hire a alien on a permanent basis must prove to the U. S. Department of Labor that there are no qualified U.S. workers available and the alien's employment will not adversely affect the benefits of U.S. workers.
