PERM is the new labor certification program that replaces the
Reduction in Recruitment (RIR) and the regular labor certification
process. PERM is the abbreviation of ˇ°Program Electronic Review
Managementˇ±. The PERM
system allows the employers to file
labor certification petitions for their alien workers online or by mail
without submitting supporting documentation. In stead, the employers will
retain all documentation for inspection in the case of an audit.
If the application meets the requirements, the labor certification
application will be approved within 45 to 60 days.
But it is not always so. We have some PERM applications approved in 24 hours, some approved in 3 months!
